When I get to the part when I say what ACTUALLY causes depression, I am referring to that really dark, really down state of mind that most licensed professionals would diagnose as "Major Depressive Disorder" (or "MDD"). The video in the link below does a great job of describing what those really down states of mind can feel like (again, the licensed professionals would call this MDD).
All of the "Practical Tips" and "Depression is..." during the first part of the video above still are a cause of Major Depressive Disorder and "depression" too. However, it is the thing that I reference that "ACTUALLY" causes depression that leads to those practical tips being more frequent than they would be it the "ACTUAL" cause of depression / MDD didn't exist in you.
